What is an AI Agent?

It is an autonomous software system that perceives its environment, reasons about it, makes decisions, and acts to achieve goals, often using Large Language Models (LLMs) and tools to perform complex tasks without constant human supervision, essentially acting as an “intelligent digital worker.” It operates through perception (sensors/input), a reasoning/planning model (the “brain”), and actuators (tools/output) in a continuous cycle to learn, adapt, and execute multi-step workflows, such as scheduling meetings, analyzing data, or even making purchases.
